The egg hunt

Happy Easter

It seems the only time I end up blogging anymore is on Holidays!! Life is busy and full of excitement daily. I have to say that as much as I LOVE Arizona the holidays are very lonely without the abundance of family and friends that we were used to spending them with. We went to church this morning and then went to our favorite restaurant(P.F. Changs) I know, Chinese for Easter?? Just didn't have the urge to cook for the 5 of us. Then home to a wonderful afternoon nap with Layla that was much needed on my part. We hid eggs and had a hunt in our back yard and then headed to the pool with the kids new pool toys. Layed in the sun and started reading a new book. A beautiful day altogether, just a little different than what I have done in the past! The most important part is that JESUS HAS RISEN!!

State park trip

I had to work today but Steve took the kids up to a state park in the mountains about 100 miles from here. There was a foot of snow in some places and the kids look a little cold. They had a great time and have many stories to tell me. I wish I could have gone with but I am glad they had a fun day with daddy. Steve does not know how to use the zoom on the camera so they are far away and the kids never all look at the camera at the same time.

Happy Valentines Day!

Catching Up

This working a full time job again has led me to some serious blog neglect. Just a quick post to update y'all on some pics of the little loves in our life.

Making this Home

Our trip back home for Christmas was so emotional in many ways. We were so anxious to see our new grandson and our two grandaughters and the rest of our family. In all honesty I was unsure whether I would want to come back here at all and I don't think our family still understands that this is where we need to be right now. We have dealt with many questions of how we could just move away from everyone......It has been a hard journey and although I bawled my eyes out when I left I truly feel at home here in Arizona. The sun shines every day and I love my job. Layla was so excited to get back HOME that she danced around and hugged me saying Home, Home, Home for the first hour we were back. I grew up in a family that was close and never ventured away from the town we were born in and it is so hard to feel like I am abandoning everyone. What I do know for sure is that our choices are limited right now and this is where we will be for the rest of this school year. I do not miss the snow, wind and cold one little bit, but I miss my family daily. Hopefully we will have many visitors and once they see the beauty they will understand why we love it here.

Happy New Year!!
